Going, Going, Gone — Squirreltober Day 31

Hi all 😁 For the last day of Squirreltober, I thought you might like to meet some of the skwurrels (Scots) that hang out at the Glasgow Botanic Gardens. These little guys are quite tame and will come right up to you for food.

Gone!

Don’t forget to come back tomorrow for my new series — Animals in Scots (have you already met the grumphie?).

Have a great day 😁

  1. Skwurrels – ha ha ha! Every time we go over to the US to visit my husband’s family they always get me to say ‘squirrel’ – being a Scot, I tend to say ‘skwurrel’ whereas with their deep southern drawl they tend to say ‘skwirl’ with a long-drawn-out vowel sound in the middle – it always cracks them up! 🙂

  2. These are cute! But are they friendly creatures? Sorry I don’t know much about them, we don’t have them here in The land Downunder.

    1. They’re friendly as far as any wild animal is friendly. Some of them get very used to humans being about, particularly if they can get food; but they are never really tame and you can’t handle them.

Great to hear your thoughts 😃
