Hi all ๐ This is a 2fer; it is my entry for Mind Over Memory’s Sculpture Saturday, and Lens-Artists guest host, Miriam’s challenge: Reflections.
These pictures were taken in the re-invented cloister garden of the Roman Catholic Metropolitan Cathedral of St Andrew. The sulpture consists of several mirrored panels with verses on them, that you can walk around and amongst.
In some you get the reflection of the modern apartment building in front of the old Cathedral. Each aspect gives a different view and reflection ๐

Great choices of reflection, Jez. I wonder about the reasons behind the design of these mirror sculptures with different reflections. There must be a reason beyond the artistic display. It’s very interesting.
Thanks, Miriam ๐ I think that with it being a cloister garden of a Cathedral, and if we go with the display in its most literal form, It’s a place for reflection. The verses on the mirrored panels might also lead to this conclusion; read and reflect.

What a perfect selection for the reflection challenge Jez! The installation is really beautiful although I must admit I find it a bit unusual that it’s at the cathedral. Have you read anything about what made them choose it?

It tells the story of the Cathloic revival in Scotland, with the centre piece being a meorial to the Scot-Italians who lost their lives in the Arandora Star tragedy. Looking forward to going back in better conditions ๐
