Hi all 😃 My entry to this weeks LAPC set by Tina.
My experience during the pandemic was one of increased hours at work to cover those shielding or isolating. So, as well as the challenge of limited movement curtailing creativity, time became a sparse commodity.
To combat this I took to doing a lot of photography in the garden; taking bunches of flowers outside & using the sky as a natural backdrop (featured as #65 in my Fan Of… posts).
Being allowed out once a day saw me choosing to go early, which was fantastic for shots with plenty of shadows from a low sun in the sky.
Where possible, my lensball saw a few more outings to add a different dimension to already visited, close by locations.
Sunsets from the back garden became an almost military operation with me closely monitoring sunset times, allowing for height of land, forecast conditions & actual conditions (once a forecaster, always a forecaster 😂).
Even the walk to & from work became a creative possibility.
Taking a closer look at the world near at hand, lead me further into the world of macro photography, & a new macro lens (featured as #71 in my Fan Of… series). A quite wet summer has also led to an obsession with photographing raindrops & I am currently on #17 in the series.
…and finally, a new home studio set up (featured in Fan Of… #74) for when the weather was being its usual dreich self.
As I mentioned before, lack of time was probably the greatest barrier to creativity over the last few months. As an amateur photographer who has only recently picked up a camera again properly & a relatively new blogger, I am constantly learning from others; a part of which is taking part in the plethora of challenges out there that all aim to nurture our creative processes.
A huge thank you to the awesome team of hosts at LAPC, their recent guest hosts & to all those others who run challenges that help us newbies along the road of creativity 😃
…and finally, another addition to my creative arsenal was getting Apple Music; apparently rock & metal are the perfect tunes for my photography days 🤘 So, I leave you with a bit of fun from Foo Fighters.
