The Waiting Begins — Covid 19 Test

Hi all 😃 Just a quick message!

My wife, Susan, hadn’t been feeling 100% for a couple of days (98% in her own words) & started to get a bit of a niggle in her throat today; so we started monitoring her temperature & found it was about 1.5℃ up from normal throughout the day 🤒. I checked my temperature as well & found I was about 1℃ higher than normal 🤒. I’ve also experienced a change in my sense of taste today — all in all, not good 😷

So, we’ve just been down to the local walk-through test centre in Cumbernauld to get tests done & are now isolating & awaiting the results, hopefully within 48-72 hours 😩. Fingers & toes crossed that this is just us being a bit under the weather 🤞

    1. Fingers crossed for your husband. Both my wife & I are running temps about 1.5℃ above normal, my sense of taste is completely off & Susan’s got a sore throat 😩

      1. Hi, Christa 👋 Hope you guys are doing okay 🤞 Both our tests came back today, negative. I’m still not cleared to go back to work as I’m continuing to experience an abnormally high temp; I’ve to wait till it’s back to normal & stays that way for 48 hours. My wife’s temp seems to be coming down faster than mine, so hopefully she’s nearly out of it. Let me know how you get on 🙏

      2. So sorry to hear that, Christa, our thoughts & best wishes are with you both & we hope the effects are mild & he’s swiftly on the road to recovery 🙏

  1. I most certainly hope so, the slightest tickle or sneeze is suspect today. How are things in Scotland – pretty much undercontrol or what?
Everything was going swimmingly here until the country was opened up and several people in incubation were moving through the states. Some footballers had a BBQ and infected eachother and a cab driver drove up from victoria with the virus
We are back in Lockdown with 45 new cases overnight we are right in the middle of the hot spot – fully immunized but still subject to Law.

    1. We’re struggling up here as we are not allowed to control our borders. Crazily, in England the cases are going up by nearly 40,000 a day, yet the government is insisting on coming out of lockdown; again we will suffer from the knock on effect of people holidaying up here & not abiding by our rules 😩

      1. Yes,as do we,even closing borders wasn’t 100% because people in incubation, without symptoms snuk through. Right now the Police are guarding a building of 5 families with 9 infected. We are in Lockdown again, school goes back for 3rd term on zoom, tomorrow. We are restricted to an hour’s exercise now, masks in the common areas of buildings. And huge fines. Probably just said that.

  2. Oh okay. Take it easy you guys. Just a side note, I find.. whenever I wake up at night which is a lot, I gargle with a little mouthwash every time. It seems to help with getting sick less often. 🕊
