The Old Parts of Town — Lens-Artists Challenge #216

Hi all 😃 My entry for this week’s challenge, set by Sofia: Urban Environments.

I thought for this challenge I’d look at some of the older parts of the cities that are, to my mind, far more interesting than the modern glass edifices that are everywhere nowadays. Starting with Edinburgh on a bit of a gloomy day.

Stirling next, where old architecture is never far away.

Which leads us to Glasgow, my local city. Again, there is old architecture to be found all over the city.

  1. My favorite kind of urban environment is the environment with old buildings. These buildings in Scotland are real treats. I like all the facades and spires!

  2. We loved Edinburgh when we visited a few years back Jez. At the time, although we didn’t plan it, the city was really buzzing because it was during Fringe Festival week. Who knew?! We loved people watching and the beautiful castles in the area – something we don’t have here in the states obviously!
