Hi all 😃 My entry for this week’s challenge, set by Sofia: Urban Environments.
I thought for this challenge I’d look at some of the older parts of the cities that are, to my mind, far more interesting than the modern glass edifices that are everywhere nowadays. Starting with Edinburgh on a bit of a gloomy day.
Stirling next, where old architecture is never far away.
Which leads us to Glasgow, my local city. Again, there is old architecture to be found all over the city.
Lovely tour, Jez! I love Edinburgh, but we missed out on Stirling. Great captures of old buildings – my favourites as well.
Thanks, A-C 😊 Stirling often gets overlooked!
Oh these are all beautiful, and I remember some of them. Great memories that I had of the place you call hame.
Great photos Jez! Would love to go go there one day!
Thanks, Aletta 😊 Well worth a visit 😃
Nice captures of the beautiful old buildings…well done Jez.
Thank you very much 😊
Great photos Jez. A lot of stone, and 19th century construction, I’m guessing, Stirling aside.
Thanks, John 😊 Spot on with the 19th century; the Botanic gardens celebrated 200 years a few years back 😃
Beautiful building captures Jez!
Thanks, Anne 😊
Wonderful collection, Jez. It’s been far too long since I’ve been to Stirling. I visit is due, I think!
Likewise, there’s so much more of the city I want to visit 😃
My favorite kind of urban environment is the environment with old buildings. These buildings in Scotland are real treats. I like all the facades and spires!
We loved Edinburgh when we visited a few years back Jez. At the time, although we didn’t plan it, the city was really buzzing because it was during Fringe Festival week. Who knew?! We loved people watching and the beautiful castles in the area – something we don’t have here in the states obviously!
It is a great place, a re-visit is due I think 😃
Beautiful Jez. Although I am a Glasgow girl, I have a soft spot for Stirling. KL ❤️
Likewise, I do need to visit Stirling more!
These are so wonderful historical buildings. Edinburgh was so amazing.
Thanks, Anita 😊
A great way to see these cities. I’ve never really explored Stirling but I love Edinburgh and Glasgow.
Same for me; Perth’s always worth a visit as well 😃
Thanks for the tour Jez 🙂
