Hidden in the Woods — Spies, Lies & Digital Skies

Hi All 👋 My latest post for Susan’s Digital Art Challenge: Hidden Safe House.

Okay, so this one became a bit of an epic as one idea led to another. I ended up with three different scenarios, & thus, three different baseline images.

I’m starting out with the safe house in a wood scenario. The following is a photo from an old WWII military site at Elie, Fife.

Old guard house

This is the end picture I’m going with for this particular scenario run.

There were many different attempts to get to this final image (check out the carousel below).

My next scenario to explore was a safe house disguised as a boat shed. This shot at Arbroath Harbour is the basis for the prompt.

Arbroath boatyard

The first picture for this was a wee bit limited in scope & a bit old-looking compared to what I had in mind.

Boatshed safe house

I re-visited the prompt & chose a more modern version. This picture came out as an internal one, which I thought was a good take on the challenge. It is my favourite from this particular scenario.

Again, there were several other versions, including steampunk & cyberpunk re-imaginings in the carousel below

We are getting towards the end, I promise

Whilst working on these other scenarios, I remembered some work I’d done on a lensball picture where there was a dragon in the scene that could only be seen through the lensball.

This set me off down the track of a safe house that can only be seen through a lensball; this is the baseline shot.

Lensball woodland

Through the prompt, I was able to factor in a modern safe house in the woods that can only be found through a lensball.

I was really happy with this result, but then, as usual, I decided to have some fun by going down the steampunk, cyberpunk, and synth-wave rabbit holes.

I think this particular cyberpunk rendering is my favourite overall. The rest of the images are in the carousel below this picture.
