5,000,000 views on Google Maps

·

Hi all. I started contributing to Google Maps a few years ago, and a couple of years ago was classed as a Google Local guide.

Sometimes it was as simple as taking a quick couple of snaps with my iPhone when visiting a coffee shop or restaurant, and contributing them to the place on Google Maps. Other times I was taking photos of places that didn’t show up on Google Maps, and submitting them so that a place pin could be created; one such instance is the car park at the northern end of Loch Long, Nr Arrochar, another is the tower at the Glasgow Science Centre.

In total, I’ve contributed 285 photos and had 4 previously unmarked places created. My attached photos have now reached over 5,000,000 views

That’s cool, I had no idea where those photos came from!

I’d had no idea until I started doing it; I thought all the pictures were submitted by the stores themselves.
