Upside-down Swans — Fan Of… #137

Hi all 😁 Feel free to join in this weekly challenge whenever you find yourself thinking, “I’m a fan of…” (see below for how-to).

This week’s Fan Of… is upside-down swans. It is not an uncommon site whilst cycling along the canal to see the back end of a swan sticking out of the water whilst they graze off the weed on the bottom 😂

Helix Park — Fan Of… #136 and Pull Up a Seat #48

Hi all 😁 Feel free to join in this weekly challenge whenever you find yourself thinking “I’m a fan of…” (see below for how-to).

This week’s Fan Of… is a visit to Helix Park.

This is also my entry for Xinfumama’s Pull Up a Seat Challenge. Check out the seat below 😃

Helix Park is an outdoor visitors centre just outside of Falkirk & forms part of the Kelpies attraction. The Park is a very open area with a kids playpark, café, plenty of bike parking & two very large ponds. Both ponds are frequented by a variety of water birds: Swans, ducks, coots, geese & gulls, to mention but a few.

A Dreich Day by the Canal — Fan Of… #135 and Lens-Artists #175

Hi all 😁 Feel free to join in this weekly challenge whenever you find yourself thinking “I’m a fan of…” (see below for how-to).

This week’s Fan Of… is a dreich day by the canal. Probably not everyone’s idea of a day to be out on the bikes, but we’ve decided we’re not just fair-weather cyclists.

Being out on our bikes exploring is our version of bliss for my wife & me, & so this is also my entry for this week’s Lens-Artists Challenge, hosted this week by Lindy Low LeCoq: Follow Your Bliss.

We don’t have a car & since we got our bikes earlier in the year, we have clocked up over 700km & have seen many local attractions & a plethora of nature that we would never have otherwise come across. We use the Forth & Clyde Canal a lot to get around & I have been able to capture many images that have featured extensively in my Fan Of… & Water Water Everywhere Challenges, as well as in many other photographic challenges.

Hi all 😁 Feel free to join in this weekly challenge whenever you find yourself thinking “I’m a fan of…” (see below for how-to).

This week’s Fan Of… is cycling by the canal in autumn; low sun angle, still waters & reflections, lots of golden browns & a family of swans 😃

Whale Fall Phone Holder — Fan Of… #133 and Cellpic Sunday

Hi all 😁 Feel free to join in this weekly challenge whenever you find yourself thinking “I’m a fan of…” (see below for how-to).

This week’s Fan Of… is my new Whale Fall Handlebar Phone Holder. All the pics in the post were taken with my iPhone & so this is also my entry for John’s Cellpic Sunday. John’s challenge inspired me to use my new iPhone SE camera more for photography & hence the new phone holder. My previous holder, whilst sturdy, was not waterproof & also a bit fiddly to get my phone on & off of. This one is much simpler & allows me to stop, get my phone, quickly take some pics, & put it away again before carrying on riding 😃

This new holder attaches to the bars using a simple screw ratchet (can just be seen under the holder body).

Waters of the Past — Water Water Everywhere #100, Fan Of… #131, PastSquares & Lens-Artists #171

Hi all 😁 Feel free to join in whenever you have a water picture, video or poem to post (any type of water, in any state, will do), or find yourself thinking “I’m a Fan Of…”. See below for how to join the fun 😁

First off, a huge big thank you to all those who follow my blog, participate in my challenges & host their own, you’re all awesome 🙏👏😁

Woohoo 🎉 100 episodes of Water Water Everywhere 😁 & as such, I thought a revisit of past WWEs was the way to go for the post & seems perfect to link up with Becky’s #PastSquares & my weekly Fan Of… challenge. These are my top 5 pics in no particular order (I was trying for top 3, but couldn’t wittle them down any further 😂).

Although water may not be particularly wierd it is certainly wonderful, although I suppose viewing it through a lensball does add a touch of wierdness to it; as such I’ve linked this post into the Lens-Artists Challenge: Wierd & Wonderful, set this week by Leya 😃

Changing Moods of Fannyside Lochs — Fan Of… #129 and PastSquares

Hi all 😁 Feel free to join in this weekly challenge whenever you find yourself thinking “I’m a fan of…” (see below for how-to).

This week’s Fan Of… is the changing moods of Fannyside Lochs as seen through PastSquares, & so is my latest post for Becky’s PastSquares. Some of my favourite shots have been captured at this small, peaceful Loch, like the one below.

This was a post that I have had in the works for a while; but whilst gathering the photos together, I realised that many of them had appeared in Becky’s Square challenges over the last couple of years, so this seemed the perfect melding of Fan Of… & PastSquares.
