Fan Of… #28 — Callendar House

Hi all 😁 and as promised in yesterday’s Fan Of... Callendar Park; welcome to Callendar House.

Callendar House is set within the picturesque Callendar Park and dates back to the 14th century. In its first iteration, the house was a 14th century tower house, and has been added to over the centuries to become what we see today; a French Renaissance style château fused with elements of Scottish baronial architecture.

The house has many attractions within, including a comprehensive history of not just the house, but also the surrounding area; the Crucible of Revolution, and its part in the early industrial revolution. Another attraction is the still working, authentic Georgian Kitchen with its massive smoke jack (one of the few examples remaining in Europe).

Another claim to fame of the house, is its use in one of the most climactic scenes (episode 11) in the second Outlander Series.
