This week’s Fan Of… is my new Neewer extendable monopod (affiliate link).
Whilst out & about with lensy, I found it was sometimes difficult to hold camera & lensball steady; and there isn’t always a suitable place to put lensy down. I do have a tripod, but it is a bit bulky to carry around, plus it takes a while to set it up. With all that in mind, I decided to look into monopods.
I opted for a Neewer monopod as I have had many products from them over the years & have come to rely on their quality. Another feature I like about this model is that it has a detatchable, folding tripod base with an internal ball joint to allow for levelling of the monopod on slopes. I have found this monopod to be a lot more stable than I thought it would be, owing to the detachable base. The fact that it is free standing on most surfaces is a fantastic feature 😃

That koos great, perhaps that is what I need too! The tripod is quite heavy to carry around!
Took him out with me the other day for an outing, with lensy; made life so much easier. That being said, the tripod foot doesn’t always work to well on long grass, and the spike tip is better; Lensy did fall off at one point 😂

Can this work as a walking stick?
Yes it can; the tripod attachment unscrews, and there is a rubber foot that can screw on in its place.
