Update: Thanks to my friend, Elke, I can put a name to this; it is a cerastium, also known as mouse-ear chickweed

      Just looked it up, spot on ElkeAlso called mouse-ear chickweed

        I like the common name better! It German it’s very drearily called “Hornkraut” = horned plant.
