Where does the name come from? As I mentioned in the repost,we have bred cattle dogs called Kelpies.

The exact origin of the name is not certain but is thought to derive from the Scottish Gaelic words ‘cailpeach’ or ‘colpach’, meaning heifer or colt. Kelpies are said to haunt rivers and streams, usually in the shape of a horse.
