Hi All 👋 Feel free to join this weekly challenge whenever you think, “I’m a fan of…” (see below for how-to).
I know this week was meant to be more re-imaginings of the Bo’ness & Kinneil Steam Locomotive, but I went a different route
This week’s Fan Of… #235 is images that didn’t make my post for Susan’s Spies, Lies & Digital Skies: Clandestine Meeting.
One of my thoughts was to have the clandestine meeting down at the docks; this is the original image I shot & used as the basis of my prompt engineering.
From Real Photos to COllaborative AI Artwork: My Experiment with AI Art

I also went for a blend of historic & futuristic worlds & a trans-dimensional portal. These are the results.

The futuristic world was meant to be seen through the portal, not behind it. No matter how I revised the prompt, it didn’t work this time, so I thought I’d try an archway next. This is my original shot of the McLennan Arch, Glasgow.

The prompt for this was to have glowing runes around it & a snow-covered world seen through it. As you can see, the AI added the runes to a couple of doorways & the snow-covered world can be seen over the top of the arch.

I revised the prompt to have the archway in an enchanted forest with a futuristic cityscape seen through it. This worked well, but the AI removed the characters involved in the clandestine meeting.

Another revision of the prompt, re-detailing the meeting between a druid & a futuristic warrior, & the addition of glowing red runes around the archway. This one came out really well to show a meeting of mystical & futuristic.

I tried next to have the druid hand the future warrior a mystical sword through the portal; it kinda worked

A final couple of images involving the portal.
These last three are for a laugh; I used some images of our toy plush husky & bear to generate these alleyway meetings in a steampunk world.
The Evolving Art of Prompt Engineering in AI-Generated Artwork
Prompt engineering is an evolving function; for the same prompt, you will get different outputs from different photos. The prompt needs to be tweaked constantly to fit the original photo & the desired outcome. So, join me over the next few weeks as I delve further into the world of prompt engineering & artwork manipulation.
Next week, I really will be back with more re-imaginings for the Bo’ness & Kinneil Steam Engine. I’ll be using the same base image as this week but changing the background landscape & features; here’s a quick sneak peek
