The Poet’s Path: A Visual Tribute to Rabbie Burns — Fan Of… Series

As promised, my Historic Scotland Series is featuring the Poet’s Path, another National Trust for Scotland treasure, as my latest Fan Of… post.

The Poets’ Path is a scenic pedestrian path that joins Rabbie Burns’ Cottage to the Burns’ Birthplace Museum. Along the way, you can spot creative ironwork signage crafted by Timorous Beasties, celebrating scenes from Burns’ Tam o’ Shanter, & seasonal plantings. For more info, visit National Trust Scotland.

As you wander around, keep an eye out for some fantastic Burns-inspired artworks. Check out Kenny Hunter’s not-so-little cast iron mouse (Susan for scale) and, a bit further down, Jake Harvey’s oversized granite haggis. Don’t forget to take a break on our newest sculpture, The Twa Dogs, created by artist Sally Matthews!

Next week will be the Burn’s Birthplace Museum.
