







Hi All 👋 Here is my entry for CFFC: Red.
My wife and I visited the House for an Art Lover yesterday. The house was designed by Mackintosh and features many of his artistic touches. What struck me on our way round was that the predominant accent colour used was red (usually in the form of a rose) and so, I thought some pics from the house would suit this challenge.
So, here we go for a quick tour of red

Hi All 👋 This totie wee reid Rab (robin) is today’s Animals in Scots.
Another name for the robin is “mason’s ghost”; I had to do some digging into this one! The following is an exerpt from the dictionary of the Scots Language: The Mason’s Ghost: I have heard this ominous name applied in Jedburgh to the harmless Robin-redbreast, with allusion, I believe, to the fact that during frosty or snowy weather, when masons are unable to work and therefore stay more at home, the emboldened bird, unable to get its natural food (i.e., worms, &c.), may be said to “haunt” dwellings, frequently also entering them, in search of sustenance.

This week’s Fan Of… is Orchids; or as they are called in Scots, balderrie. The spotted ones are called puddock’s spindle (great name)! These shots were all taken during a recent visit to the Glasgow Botanic Gardens with my wife.
