Siberian Irises at Rabbie Burns’ Cottage — FOTD Jul 23

Hi All 👋 My latest post for Cee’s FOTD.

Some more Siberian irises from the gardens at Rabbie Burns’ Cottage.

As with my latest Fan Of… post (see link), I’m exploring some DALL-E AI preset styles for my edits.

For today, I’ve done some cumulative transformations based on the Scots Baronial-style architecture. I’ve started off with a basic setting change, then added into the prompt a nighttime winter setting & finally, dawn with the sun’s first rays starting to melt the frost on the irises… enjoy

For these elegant magnolias, I’ve done a dawn-style transformation. The effect of this is to re-imagine the flowers at dawn; this gives a low orange light source, creating an image of heightened contrasts.

I did a Mannerism-style transformation for this picture (for a wee bit more on Mannerism, see my latest FOTD), and then, keeping the Mannerism-style, re-imagined it as a light & ethereal watercolour.

In the Capital — Weekend Sky #121

Hi All 👋 My latest entry for Hammad’s Weekend Sky Challenge.

This early morning shot was during an unplanned overnight stay in Edinburgh??????

I also transformed the image into a watercolour? In the prompt, I specified the location as being Edinburgh. Giving the AI a location does change the outcome of the transformation.

The following picture uses the same baseline shot as above but without specifying the location. The transformation into a cityscape just after dawn is good, but the architecture is generic; the AI has picked up the older style architecture well from the initial image.

I did a couple of watercolour edits in Hot Mods. The first didn’t really add the fishing boat in, so I amended the prompt to make it more of a feature in the second.

Cold Winter’s Sun Illuminates Empty Playpark

Hi All 👋 My entry for Debbie’s Six Word Saturday.

    Empty playpark
    Empty playpark

I decided to transform this into a watercolour using Hot Mods. I went through several prompt amendments to get the end result I was after.

I liked this first attempt, but wanted some evergreens in thew picture.

Again, a good outcome, but a touch on the vibrant side, & the original was a cloudless sky.

Getting closer, a softer light from the sun & back to the original cloudless sky, but the sun is now sitting too high above the horizon; one more go…

…finally, a lower sun casts longer shadows of an empty playpark on a cold winter’s day.
