    Fallen Leaf In A Puddle

I’m still playing with my phone inverted to take shots for that close-to-the-ground perspective. Thankfully my phone has a really good tough case, a Unicorn Beetle Pro by Supcase, as these shots involved the top of my phone case actually touching the water!!! In the last shot & feature image, you can see raindrops landing on either side of the leaf?

    Colourful Fallen Sycamore Seeds

I saw these fallen sycamore seeds on the way home today & couldn’t resist a couple of snaps. We always called them helicopters

Fallen Leaf With A Heathery Backdrop

How fortunate that this fallen red leaf was next to the heather, or did itNope, it was actually between our bins in the front of the house. I liked the pattern & colour of the leaf but not its surroundings; the wee clump of heather in the front garden seemed a much better place for it to come to an assisted rest

Another Fallen Leaf — Well It Is Autumn

I’m still playing with my iPhone inverted so that the lens is at ground level. I took this next shot & again, I’m quite happy with the result.

Whilst cropping it for the feature photo, I came up with a dilemma; do I have the leaf in the top right 3rd or bottom right 3rd. I think it looks better top right, there’s less to distract you from the leaf, though my wife thinks bottom right pulls you into the picture more.

    What do you guys think?

  • Up Close With A Fallen Leaf

Up Close With A Fallen Leaf

I was first captivated by the vivid red hue of this particular leaf, further intrigued by the contrasting brown veins. It screamed “photo opportunity” to me. By inverting my phone, I managed to get a ground-level close-up without the need to lie down. This technique offers a unique perspective because you can’t preview the shot. Check out the result below – I’m quite pleased with it

The First Subtle Signs of Autumn

On my way to work yesterday, I saw the first subtle sign of change in the trees lining the path.
