Hi all 😁 Feel free to join in this weekly challenge whenever you find yourself thinking “I’m a fan of…” (see below for how to).
This week’s Fan Of… a new knitting machine.
My wife recently bought a new knitting machine so that we could make our own hats, scarfs & gloves, & eventually jumpers & cardigans. I thought I’d give it a shot to make myself a hat!

Using this…

The first hat I made was able to be worn with a brim…

Or as a slouch beanie…

So far, my wife & I have made several scarfs & hats. One of the hats I made for a colleague’s birthday (her mum has just ordered another one), & sold two to another colleague. So, we’ll see where we go from here.
We’ve also started making pom-poms for the hats as well, but that’s a post for another time 😃

Interesting!
That is so awesome! Great job! Have you ever thought of doing this and selling them on Etsy? It’s the perfect type of product for that platform. 🙂
Fuunily enough, my wife is in the process of setting up an Etsy shop 😃
Yay! That is awesome! 😊
I agree that is a marvelous tool
well done. Looks great, Jez. And just the time of year to expand production 🙂
Definitely; thanks, Debbie 😊
That is one funky hat! Great idea. I remember watching my great gran knit and I could never get the hang of it! I have one of the hats she knitted for me in the early 90s. I treasure it!
Wow Jez, that looks like a wonderful knitting machine and your hat is amazing! 😀👏
Thanks, Xenia 😊
What great fun! Excellent colours and to have sold a couple… Could this be that career shift?
We’ll see how we go…
But can you knit with it while watching tv? 😝
Here’s my fanatical post for the week: https://picturesimperfectblog.wordpress.com/2021/01/18/i-am-a-fan-of-traffic-signs-with-children/
Yes you can, although you do need to keep an eye out for the occasional drop stitch 😩
These machines are amazing, especially for upper limb disabilities. I can’t wait for the pom-pom post!
