      Hi, KarenThey are actually part of the plum family, and although edible, are very tart & if you are brave enough to eat one raw, would dry your maouth out before finishing itThey do get used a lot in preserves, cooking & in the making of gin; my dad used to make sloe gin

        Oh! When I heard it, I thought they were saying slow gin, and thought maybe the method was slow. It’s clear who the slow one is.
