My Scottish mother in law calls campanula ‘bluebells’, and I think these she calls ‘wild hyacinths’ but either way they are the gorgeous colour of spring

Your MiL is spot on. The ones in Jez’s photie are called wood hyacinths. I agree, no matter which ones, they’re both beautiful.
