Well now, this is a cousin to what we call, in my State, Salvation Jane. They’re unsure of the origins of the name, but think the flowers look like the bonnets of Salvation Army women back in the day. In SA it can be used by apiarists and cattle and sheep when there’s a drought, but it was introduced and has become a noxious weed, occupying more than 30million hectares of the country. Your blueweed is found in the eastern states, but also unwelcome.
It’s amazing how introduced species can take over the natural flora & fauna
Jez, you must go out hunting for these cool flowers you are posting 😀 😀
We walk a lot when we’re out & about; the flowers just seem to be wanting to be found
