My third post in my Historic Scotland series features J.A. Braithwaite LTD Tea & Coffee Shop.

We had to visit this fantastic old shop, given that we have a surname in common ?

How is this shop historic, you ask; it is the oldest shop in Dundee (info from The Scots Magazine).

? Dundee’s Oldest Shop: A Timeless Treasure! ?

Step into history at Dundee’s oldest shop! ?? First brewing up a storm in 1868 at City Square, it relocated to its charming current spot in 1932. This shop is a vintage lover’s dream, boasting original wooden countertops, drawers, ancient tea chests, & a magnificent mahogany display unit. ??

Sip your way through an impressive selection of 100 teas & 30 coffees ??, paired perfectly with a wide array of beautiful tea & coffee pots. The friendly staff are always ready with a smile ? & expert advice for newbie sippers. Look out for Allan Braithwaite, the fourth-generation owner, often seen roasting beans using a cherished family recipe. ????

Come for the history; stay for the flavours! ?

In the fifth picture in the carousel, you can see Allan Braithwaite still hard at work.

Join me again next week as we head to Alloway, Ayrshire, birthplace of the renowned Scottish poet, Robert Burns.

    1. Thanks for letting me know, Karen ? It seems to be a weird carousel glitch on the live version; the non-live version doesn’t have the duplication ?

Great to hear your thoughts ?
