Hi All 👋 Feel free to join in this weekly challenge whenever you find yourself thinking, “I’m a fan of…” (see below for how-to).
This week’s Fan Of.. is Swans #2. Recent workload & poor weather have meant no chance for photography outings, so I’m delving into my archive for my Fan Of… series. This week I’m concentrating on cygnets & juveniles from various places we’ve visited on our bikes. Come back next week for some more swan close-ups

This week’s Fan Of… is a dreich day by the canal. Probably not everyone’s idea of a day to be out on the bikes, but we’ve decided we’re not just fair-weather cyclists.
Being out on our bikes exploring is our version of bliss for my wife & me, & so this is also my entry for this week’s Lens-Artists Challenge, hosted this week by Lindy Low LeCoq: Follow Your Bliss.
We don’t have a car & since we got our bikes earlier in the year, we have clocked up over 700km & have seen many local attractions & a plethora of nature that we would never have otherwise come across. We use the Forth & Clyde Canal a lot to get around & I have been able to capture many images that have featured extensively in my Fan Of… & Water Water Everywhere Challenges, as well as in many other photographic challenges.

This week’s Fan Of… is cycling by the canal in autumn; low sun angle, still waters & reflections, lots of golden browns & a family of swans
Hi All 👋 My latest entry for Terri’s Sunday Stills: Furs & Feathers.
On our latest ride down by the Forth & Clyde Canal, we came across a family of Swans feeding over by the far bank.
In ones & twos, they gradually came across to the near bank.
We carried on with our ride; on our return a bit later, they’d come out of the canal for a family preening session. 3 remained down in the reeds & rushes, but 2 came right up onto the path, & seemed unconcerned by the human with the camera
I was able to get within a few feet of them to get these close-ups
