Inquisitive Duck — Fan Of… #125

Hi all ๐Ÿ˜ Feel free to join in this weekly challenge whenever you find yourself thinking “I’m a fan ofโ€ฆ” (see below for how-to).

It’s my wife’s birthday ๐ŸŽ‰ coming up & I’m on hoilday for the next couple of weeks; Fan Of… will be back on the 20th September. Until then, stary safe & happy blogging ๐Ÿ˜

This week’s Fan Ofโ€ฆ is a nosy but friendly duck (we called her Matilda ๐Ÿ˜‚).

Whilst up at Palacerigg Country Park to get some shots of Snappy’s modified camera bag, featured in last week’s Fan Of… #124, one of the female mallards at the pond decided to come over & see what was happening.

Hi all ๐Ÿ˜ Feel free to join in whenever you have a water picture to post (any type of water, in any state, will do). See below for how to join the fun ๐Ÿ˜

About three quarters of the pond at the Palacerigg Visitor Centre was frozen, giving the resident ducks a much smaller swimming area.

Learning a New Skill — Lens Artists Challenge #125

Hi all ๐Ÿ˜ƒ My entry for this weeks challenge, set by Tina: You Pick It.

This was inspired by Lisa Coleman’s latest Bird Weekly — Photo Challenge: Birds in Colour & Mono. In the second picture of her post, there is a slider bar which can be dragged back & forth to change the colour & grey scale aspects of the picture. I was very taken with this but, had no idea how it was done. I decided, for my entry, to use columns to put the colour & the black & white images side by side, but wordpress went into a huff & wouldn’t play along ๐Ÿ˜ฉ I ended up doing the images in a stacked format as that was all that was working. Below is an example.

Bushboy to the rescue. Brian, in the comments suggested that I edited the post using the compare function in the block editor.

So here is the newly edited post, using a newly learnt skill, inspired by Lisa & pointed in the right direction by Brian ๐Ÿ˜ƒ WordPress is a wonderful place ๐Ÿ˜Š

Full Speed Ahead — Water Water Everywhere #46

Hi all ๐Ÿ˜ Feel free to join in whenever you have a water picture to post (any type of water, in any state, will do). See below for how to join the fun ๐Ÿ˜

Whilst at the Palacerigg Visitor Centre, I noticed this mallard on one side of the pond, watching the others across the way. I don’t think she liked the way one of the other ducks quacked at her, as she was soon accelerating across the pond, & the other turned & sped off ๐Ÿคฃ

Full speed ahead
