Whilst up at Palacerigg Country Park to get some shots of Snappy’s modified camera bag, featured in last week’s Fan Of… #124, one of the female mallards at the pond decided to come over & see what was happening.

I don’t know about ugly, certainly not compared to Debbie’s Marabou Stork, but certainly not the prettiest; alhtough very friendly when you have food — Muscovy Ducks.

About three quarters of the pond at the Palacerigg Visitor Centre was frozen, giving the resident ducks a much smaller swimming area.
