Hi all π and welcome to today’s Fan Of… Riverside Museum.
The Riverside Museum is the new home to Glasgow’s award-winning transport museum.Β It was opened in 2011 and won the European Museum of Year award in 2013. There are over 3,000 objects on display; from the motorbikes used in the Long Way Round series, to double decker trams. There is a huge wall of cars, where all the cars are mounted on plinths on the wall π² and a large moving display of ships. One of the best exhibits is of 80s memorabilia and toys.

Berthed on the quayside outside the museum, is the Glenlee. Known locally as the Tall Ship, the Glenlee is a floating museum and well worth a visit. For more info and pics, I wrote a post back in July for the Lens-Artists weekly challenge — Glenlee.

Have a great day π

What a fabulous museum. I especially love transport museums so if I am lucky enough to ever visit Scotland again this museum would be near the top of my to-do list.
It’s a definite must-see; need to leave plenty of time to really appreciate it π
I like visiting museums, because I love history!
