Hi all π My earlier post for Cee’s Flower of the Day was of a yellow petunia, which was part of the Arbroath in Bloom display. The display consists in part of bikes that have been turned into planters and dotted around the town and harbour. The bikes have been painted, had baskets/panniers added to them which have then been used as planters. I had never seen this before so thought I’d show a few more images of them.

Down at the harbour, there was an old boat that had been turned into a large planter.

Unfortunately, it’s getting towards the end of the season and the displays are no longer at their best, but I think you can get a good idea of what they would have looked like.
That being said, there was a fantastic display on the way into town, featured in my Butterflies and a lot of Dahlias post yesterday.

Luv those bicycle planters!
This is just wonderful. The colored bikes and your close ups of the flowers. So much fun to see these thanks for sharing.
Thanks, Anne π
Oh what beautiful flowers you captured. π π
Thanks, Cee π I’m going to try and get back next year when the displays are in full bloom!
Beautiful flowers! I like the idea of the bicycles and the boat used as planters. π
It’s a great way of up-cycling π
