Hi all š Here’s my latest entry for Ludvig’ Monday Window challenge.
The Templeton Building started out life as a carpet factory. Construction began in 1888 and was completed in 1892. It was constructed for James Templeton and Son for the manufacture of their patented spool Axminster Carpets.
It was in use as a carpet factory until 1984 when it was converted into a business centre. It underwent a major regeneration project in 2005, and became a multi-purpose building housing apartments, office space and the West brewery bar & restaurant.

This is one of my favourite buildings ever. You’ve captured it wonderfully, sweetie!
Thanks, sweetie āŗļø
These photos are stunning! How reassuring to see how a building like this has been restored and NOT torn down to be replaced by new construction.
Thanks š I love the repurposing of old buildings š
What an amazing structure! It is from an era when ornamentation was not a dirty word. I love it! So fanciful!
I agree, it’s one of the best looking buildings in Glasgow in my opinion š
Beautiful red brick building! š
It’s quite stunning š
That’s such a beautiful facade for a factory. We wouldn’t see that nowadays.
Defianately not, it would be all glass and concrete!
One of my favourite Glasgow buildings. Always remembering the 29 young women who died during its construction.
Yeah, that was a really sad tale; along with those who died in a later fire. Seems to have been a building plagued with problems, but hopefully not anymore!
Quite a castle! Nicely photographed. Thank you!
Thanks, Ludvig š
That’s is fancy brick work around the side windows, really nice building
