Hi all π This is another one you’ve Bushboy to thank for. After I got my new macro lens, he challenged me to do a macro shot of a lensball, so here we are π
I'm a Royal Navy Veteran from Scotland and love to get out and about with my wife, susantbraithwaite.com, on our Kalkhoff e-bikes. That’s come out brilliantly! I love how the lily looks like it’s about to escape the lensball.
Cool effect. I will have to try that. Went out on my first “Lensball” shoot this week. It’s harder than it looks to get good results. >grin< Some of my images appeared to have reflections of the clouds that showed up in the foreground on a partly cloudy day. They looked like smudges or streaks in the image, but since getting the ball, I've never actually touched it. I always pick it up by the cloth it came with.
On the bright side, Luminar's erase function made the "smudges" disappear easily.
I had the same issue the other day with quite dark conditions but oddly bright clouds reflecting off the lensball. I’m still very much learing what works & what doesn’t. I do know that dark objects as the subject does lead to a greater susceptibility of lighter objects hiding the subject; I was photographing a sunflower the other day, the dark interior became a perfect mirror on the surface of the lensball, keep an eye out for the post π
