Full Speed Ahead — Water Water Everywhere #46

·

Hi All 👋 Feel free to join in whenever you have a water picture to post (any type of water, in any state, will do). See below for how to join the fun

Whilst at the Palacerigg Visitor Centre, I noticed this mallard on one side of the pond, watching the others across the way. I don’t think she liked the way one of the other ducks quacked at her, as she was soon accelerating across the pond, & the other turned & sped off

Full speed ahead

    Gorgeous duck 😀

Have you seen the Muscovy with the dodgy wing? Poor fella. Called the SSPCA about him but he is doing fine.

I did see him, I thought at first he was just drying his wings out, but then saw the damage to his wing. Hopefully he’ll be fully recovered soon & at least he’s got somewhere reasonably safe to recuperate.

At first I thought it was “angel wing” as waterfowl are very prone to that. BUT was speaking to one of the parkies and he was telling me that the wee guy got caught by a fox, but managed to escape. He can’t fly, but yes he is fairly safe there and has a decent quality of life. I have nick-named him Gammy! I love seeing him and always check up on him and feed him 😀 I also make sure the older timer goose gets fed too!
