Light and Dark — Lens-Artists Challenge #138

·

Hi All 👋 My entry for this weeks challenge, set by Amy: Natuarl Light.

My favourite natural light is in the dawn; with the greatest contrast between light & dark. The same can be said for dusk, but I’m very much a morning person!

I also like shooting from within the shade, this can sometimes create a shadowy frame for a sunlit landscape.

…or the reverse, shooting towards dark clouds from within a suuny spot.

Wooded glades with limited sun filtering through.

…or the sun blasting into the glade!

The next gallery are all early morning shots, most taken towards the sun to create flare in the lens & enhance the dark/light contrast. The low layer of stratus cloud formed a perfect edge for the sun to peek over the top of.

…and finally, you didn’t think I’d forgotten lensy did you

Great shots, Jez! I really like the shots with lensy, especially the one featuring the lone pine tree.

    Hi Jez,
Is Lensy the ball. The pictures are so cool. I love the header picture. All of your pictures are very light driven. I love the long shadows and the blaring rays of sun. Those are my favorites. Lone trees are also a huge winner for me. 🙂

Yes, Lensy is the ball; I tend to name a lot of things. Thank you so much for your awesome comment, Marsha

Love the variety, Jez – and my favourites are your early morning shots and … lensy. I have never tried one, but you are versatile with it!

I so enjoy this light series, Jezz. The sunrising is beautifully captured. I love how you frame the light with tree branches. These lensy photos are so very cool!! 🙂

These are wonderful Jez – I especially enjoyed the lensy images. I’ve been playing around with one here with pretty limited success. I suppose I shall have to give in and try it with my tripod. The lone tree is perfect!

Thanks, TinaFor free hand shooting with lensy I’ve generally got my zoom set at about 40mm (seems to work for my arm length) & I shoot in landscape mode on full auto. This seems to work for me, but if I can, I find something for Lensy to sit on to allow a lot more freedom in composition & settings
