Hi all š My latest entry for The Squirrel Chase challenge.
All my editing for this post was done using Canva.
This is the original shot of the Kelpies.

This first edit is using one of the Canva paint effects — mosaic. There are various settings where you can control the opacity & size of the mosaic. I kept the settings low so that the Kelpies can be seen for what they are.

The next is a smear effect; again I’ve kept the settings low.

The last is a polar pixelation; the picture is seperated into segments around a central point. Less segments leads to greater distortion & the picture becomes unrecognisable. I went for the max number of segments to keep the effect subtle.

I love the Kelpies. The mosaic was beautiful. I like the colors they choose. I’m not as crazy about the blur. I think the original is so dynamic and that feature blurs the dynamic. But that’s me. It’s fun to experiment. I appreciate you searching for it! š
Thanks, Marsha š I agree whole heartedly about the blur; it was one of those exercises in what does/doesn’t work š¤
I do that all the time!
I love the Mosaic Kelpies!
One of my favourites!
The kelpies definitely deserve their own physical mosaic. They look great in these colors.
Thanks, Gift š
I like all of your kelpies photos, you know that – but I adore the pastel mosaic!
Thanks, Elke š It’s one of my favourite edits; I need to see what else it works well on š¤
