The Old Parts of Town — Lens-Artists Challenge #216

·

Hi All 👋 My entry for this week’s challenge, set by Sofia: Urban Environments.

I thought for this challenge I’d look at some of the older parts of the cities that are, to my mind, far more interesting than the modern glass edifices that are everywhere nowadays. Starting with Edinburgh on a bit of a gloomy day.

Stirling next, where old architecture is never far away.

Which leads us to Glasgow, my local city. Again, there is old architecture to be found all over the city.

Lovely tour, Jez! I love Edinburgh, but we missed out on Stirling. Great captures of old buildings – my favourites as well.

Great photos Jez. A lot of stone, and 19th century construction, I’m guessing, Stirling aside.

Wonderful collection, Jez. It’s been far too long since I’ve been to Stirling. I visit is due, I think!

My favorite kind of urban environment is the environment with old buildings. These buildings in Scotland are real treats. I like all the facades and spires!

We loved Edinburgh when we visited a few years back Jez. At the time, although we didn’t plan it, the city was really buzzing because it was during Fringe Festival week. Who knew?! We loved people watching and the beautiful castles in the area – something we don’t have here in the states obviously!
