Some New Favourites — Lens-Artists Challenge #230

·

Hi All 👋 My entry for this week’s challenge, set by Tina: Last Chance.

This year gave little opportunity to get out & about, but there are still some new favourites. Our first ride in February saw us at the Kelpies with a snow covered back-drop.

Our trips along the Forth & Clyde Canal saw plenty of chances to add some more reflection shots for my Water Water Everywhere challenge.

In Falkirk there was a huge blossom tree, perfectly framed againsta clear blue sky.

There are always plenty of feathered friends around. The last shot of the juvenile swan was memorable; he came out of the water near to where my wife & I were stopped & was totally fine with us being there. His Mum & Dad on the other hand were not so happy & they came hurtling across the canal in full swan mode to make sure nothing was going wrong

A few weeks ago, we were finally able to get away for a couple of days & stayed at the town of Kirkcaldy, on the Fife Coast. Many of my new favourites were from that trip.

It starts off with a friendly raven.

Sunrises are easier to get at this time of year. There was even time to get a leaisurely breakfast before heading down to the seafront.

This next shot is very simple but definitely towards the top of my favourites list.

The next is a shot through an arrow slit of a coastal turret. I like the halo effect of the lens-flare; an effecct I’d not seen before.

It wouldn’t be a favourites post if Lensy didn’t turn up at some point; here he is chilling on a rock…

…and sitting precariously in the arrow slit.

These final two shots make the favourites list for what you can’t see. The first is taken at Blackness Castle, famed for its views over the Firth of Forth. The second is at the Bridges Viewing Point in South Queensferry, from where you can see all three Bridges. We had been wanting to visit these places for a while & the views we got were a bit underwhelming
