Album Pathway — Fan Of… #195

·

Hi All 👋 Feel free to join in this weekly challenge whenever you find yourself thinking, “I’m a fan of…” (see below for how-to).

This week’s Fan Of… is the Album Pathway in Glasgow. This is also my entry for PPAC, hosted by Natalie the Explorer.

This piece of artwork that you can walk on can be found just east of Merchant City, in Glasgow, off Gallowgate. It represents all the musicians that played at the nearby Barrowlands Ballroom. The names of the bands are laid out as if viewed on a shelf of albums.

A gallery of some of the band names.

I love the Album Pathway, too! So much that I hoovered the idea to use for my own fan of post: https://wp.me/p9UayP-1TY

This is really interesting. It would fun to walk and look at all these familiar (and not so familiar) band names!

When this first appeared I enjoyed walking slowly through it trying to pick out gigs I knew I had been to. A few. It’s a great idea and I’m glad they’ve kept it – there was a rumour at one time that it was temporary.

Awesome that you got to see some of the bands play; it is getting a bit the worse for wear in some places

Jez, The Album pathway is a brilliant idea. I imagine pedestrians looking for names that they recognize and learning about new-to-them bands. Thank you for your PPAC contribution.
