Hi all π My entry for this week’s challenge, set by Anne of Slow Shutter Speed.
I edited this shot of Old Edinburgh in black & white to bring out the silhouettes of the buildings more. The original shot is fine in itself, but the black & white edit makes it more interesting & draws the eye to the skyline.

I often think that older subjects benefit from black & white editing. This gallery of shots was all taken at the Museum of Scottish Railways at Bo’ness. The black & white format highlights the textures of the old materials.

My next shots are all monochromatic; the first is a large area of sticky willy.

These last two shots are actually in colour, but the lighting conditions have rendered them monochromatic.
Great gallery, Jez! The nail is my favourite this time.
Thanks, A-C π
Well done Jez. I especially liked the B&Ws although I also loved the succulent
Thanks, Tina π The succulent has always been a favourite of mine π
Youβve got a good range, Jez. The basketball wins it for me, but I did wonder at how clean it is.
Thanks, Karen π I think it was quite a new one π
I love the monochrome color choices, Jez!
Thanks, John π
Great images for this challenge Jez. I liked the basketball. I would never have guessed what it was.
Thanks, Anne π It was one of those shots that popped into my mind as soon as I saw the subject of your challenge π
Imagining myself wading through that sticky willie and coming out looking like a bedraggled sea monster covered in green seaweed! π
Fantastic visualisation, Ruth π That’s going to have me smiling all day through work π
Great photos, all. Love those old train shots.
Thanks, John π Trains are always a great subject for B&W π
Interesting b & w trains, etc. That big round tank thing looked really oily. Love the tree branches & snow one a lot! π
Thanks, Barbara π
The basketball was a good idea π
Cheerz, buddy π
Candy for the eyes, Jez . The B& W from the RR yard certainly heights the textures as you mentioned. I particularly liked your creative captures of the nail, basketball, and Croc. Well done.
Thank you so much π
Welcome.
