Snowy Path — Lensball Playtime #4

Hi All ๐Ÿ‘‹ I was out early this morning to see if I could get a couple of sunrise shots with my lensball for LPM’s Photo Adventure Challenge, but no such luck (here’s the pic).

I did, however, get a few shots on the way home of a snowy path through some treesThe main difficulty was the light levels, and hence quite a slow shutter speed. This of course accentuated any movement, so not all shots came out as desired; out of focus/blurry (last couple of shots).

    Fan of… #49 — Historical Models

Hi All ๐Ÿ‘‹ Feel free to join in this weekly challenge whenever you find yourself thinking “I’m a fan ofโ€ฆ” (see below for how to).

This week’s Fan Ofโ€ฆ historical models. You’ll have seen from a lot of my other posts that my wife & I enjoy visiting historically significant sites. One of my favourite aspects of these places is the historically correct models on display that give a great idea of how things looked and worked. These can be most beneficial when visiting houses that have undergone many transformations, or visiting ruins.

    Peace Cairn — Sculpture Saturday

Hi All ๐Ÿ‘‹ Here’s my entry for Mind Over Memory’s Sculpture Saturday.

The Peace Cairn by Elspeth Bennie can be found in Bellahouston Park, at the front of the House for an Art Lover. The stone peace cairn was erected for the 1838 Empire Exhibition and has numerous shaped blocks of stone within it, on which are engraved the names of the organisations and clans that attended the exhibition; the very real possibility of war was a deep concern. The modern steel globe a top the cairn was added in July 2004 and features ‘Peace’ in differnt languages. We have three words for ‘Peace’ in Scots: pace, lown, saucht.
