Hi all 😁 When Patti posted the monochrome challenge, my thoughts immediately went to when my wife and I were visiting Santa Monica some years ago.
We were lucky enough to be down at the pier when a Classic Car Show was taking place; and what better way to show off these beautiful motors of a past era than in monochrome. In this case I though that silvertone did the most justice to this great collection of cars. I hope you enjoy this collaberation of photos by my wife, Susan, and I 😁

Along with other commenters, I noted as I viewed these images that they could have been taken when those classics were new. Your post is truly a trip at 88 MPH in a special Delorean.
One big WOW!
Thanks, Hammad 😁
Wow!
These are indeed lovely 🙂
I can’t get over how much better these pictures look in monochrome. 😍
They were great shots in the first place 😁
I just love old cars!!
Monochrome is perfect for these beautiful cars. I also like how the texture of the boardwalk comes through in b & w. Great collection, Jez.
Thanks, Patti 😁
Of COURSE these had to be in B&W Jez. Fabulous collection
Thanks, Tina 😁
It’s funny. Just today I was thinking about how much I miss Southern California where I lived for over thirteen years. My nostalgia runs especially deep when the cold weather starts to set in.
I can imagine. My wife and I used to visit in the new year, and would often return home from warmth and sunshine to snow!!!
Nice to see the present in a retro fashion giving them impression we all were back in time!
Wow – the sparkle you captured in many photos shows how well cared for these old cars are…
And silver gone was an excellent choice
Excellent. I love old cars, car shows, and car museums, though I’m not knowledgeable. It’s history!
