Hi all 😃 My entry for this weeks challenge, set by Aletta from nowathome: Treasures; this is also my entry for Terri’s Sunday Stills.
A lot of my treasured memories are time spent at the beach with my wife, Susan. We met whilst both on meteorological courses in the Navy, at Culdrose in Cornwall. We both have an affinity for the sea & spent alot of time walking or body-boarding at the many beaches. This first set of beaches are at Malibu & Santa Monica from 12 years ago when we spent a month there after I retired from the Navy.
The next set are at Peterhead in the north-east of Scotland; as you can see. we are at the beach in all weathers; we often prefer the blustery days, it keeps most other people away 😂
Next up is the beach at Broughty Ferry, nr Dundee in Scotland. We were fortunate to come across some wee treasures in the form of beach art.
The final beach is from a trip to the picturesque sea town of Arbroath, again in Scotland.
I’ve been given the fantastic opportunity to host LAPC next week (Sat 9th July), so stop on by where I’ll be seeing double.
Till then, hae a guid week 😁

Beautiful choices for this weeks challenge. I love them. I’d love to visit European beaches.
Thanks, Kirstin 😊 They can be a bit colder up here in the north 😂
Thanks, Elke 😊
Great beach images Jez. And the skies in most are awesome!
Thanks, Anne 😊
Wonderful beaches. Jez . As for the northern ones…..I swam in the North Sea once off the coast of Yorkshire. I remember thinking it was a positively arctic coldness. But I was young and I survived!
I used to live in North Yorkshire so I know about the water temperatures; the coldest I’ve surfed in was off the north coast of the Isle of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides (it’s the most northern one) 🥶
We’re you in a wet suit? I was just in a regular swim suit. My cousins, who were local, just plunged right in, 😄
I did have a wet suit on, but it was only a summer weight one, so it was still pretty chilly 🥶
Ok that’s allowed 😄
Loving the beach art! 🙂
Thnaks, Ruth 😊
Hi, Jez. Wonderful seascapes from around the world. I love the artistic treasures you found. Looking forward to your challenge next week! We’re delighted you’re stepping in and leading the challenge. 😀
Thanks, Patti 😊
Fantastic beach shots, Jez! I thought I recognized Santa Barbara beaches in the first gallery. One of these days I hope to visit the UK and check out those beautiful beaches. Definitely treasures!
Thanks, Terri 😊 I’m not one for busy beaches & fortunately the ones up here in Scotland are much wilder & peaceful 😃
Beautiful! GREAT banner shot!
Like Tina said our oceans around the world are among our greatest treasures!
I liked the diverse photos that you’ve shared Jez! All of the best for next week’s challenge!
Thank you so much, Aletta 😊 I can see you’ve had a fantastic response to your topic, it was fun going through them all 😃
Thank you very much Jez!
Our oceans around the world are among our greatest treasures Jez – isn’t it amazing how different they can look depending on where we see them? You’ve shown them on the best of days and the worst of days but whatever the weather they are always wondrous. Like you I love them in bad weather – not because of people (although that’s a bonus!) but because the elements make them so much more interesting and photogenic! Excellent choice for the week.
Thank you so much, Tina 😊 There’s something about being out in the raw elements that literally blows all your troubles away; if there is food for the soul, I think the beach on a windy day is it 😃
With you all the way on that Jez!
I cannot click like and make it work, Jez, but I LIKE
Great beaches, Jez! Looking forward to your hosting as well!
Thanks, Leya 😊 Looking forward to it as well 😁
Whoa! Those photos are amazing! You really have an eye for this kind of scenery, Jez! 🙂
Thank you so much, Robert 😊
